All About Me!

Hello All!

Well obviously my name is Rachael... unless you missed the giant title at the top of the page. I chose the title "A Day In The Life of Rachael" because I often find myself asking people, "So walk me through a day in the life of _____." Kids think it's cute, teenagers think it's annoying, and adults love to drone on about it! That being said, I work with a pretty wide age range in my profession. I recently was working as a "Clinical Teacher" at a Mental Health Hospital where I got to work with students who ranged from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Occasionally I would have to talk to my coworkers who were all older than me. I have my Bachelors Degree in Special Education and decided to take the journey towards getting my Masters Degree. So, I quit my job with said company, started my Masters in Reading, and got a part time job working with Autistic students.

Enough about work, I could go on forever. My home life. Well, I live in a rinky-dink apartment on the 3rd (ugh!) and we try to get all the groceries up in one trip. EVERY. TIME. "We" referring to my husband, Shane, and I. Shane is a wonderful human being with a fascinating mind and a love for life. He is the extrovert to my introvert, which is why we work so perfectly. He does all the talking and I get to tell him to shut up when everyone's done listening to him. : ) We met 6 years ago and have been together ever since. We tied the knot on May 5th 2012, one week before our 5 year anniversary.

We took the big leap last year in March of 2013 and got a dog together! Meet Roo. She is an Australian Blue Heeler mixed with a Tree Walker Hound who sheds ENTIRELY too much.

Adorable isn't she. Well, all good things come to an end and she done grow'd up on us!

We, as a "family", LOVE to go hiking, fishing, swimming, etc. When Shane lets us do something with out involving the dog we like to go to the movies, get involved with church festivities, go to concerts, and bake. By "bake" I mean, I bake things, Shane eats things, and the cycle continues, and everyone is happy about it.

Our families are quite large so I intend to shed some light on that craziness and dedicate a whole brand spanken' new page to that special group of people! Whom, we love dearly.

Ta- Da! My life in a nutshell.
